John brings over 20 years of management and growth experience to Silverstone. John has enjoyed success in a wide spectrum of business environments, from some of the largest enterprises in the country to start-up growth companies. Prior to Silverstone, John served as CEO and Chairman of Conexio Technology Solutions, LLC, a managed services company in Cincinnati. John has additional experience in the technology sector from his service as Executive Vice President of Pyramid Digital Solutions, Inc., a pioneering technology company serving the 401(k) and Institutional Trust markets. John also has an extensive background and expertise within the financial services marketplace. John was affiliated with Winton Associates, where he provided investment banking and capital advisory services to a wide range of companies seeking the ability to grow and take advantage of market opportunities. John also served as the Director of the Institutional Client Group for Fifth Third Bank. In this capacity, John had responsibility for client relationships totaling over $5billion in assets.
Prior to Fifth Third, John served in various roles at AmSouth Bank in Birmingham, Alabama including Manager of Asset Management Sales where he was responsible for all client relationships and new business activities for this large regional bank. John also served as President and General Counsel of InVest and Investment Centers of America, two large third-party registered broker-dealers, managing the P&L and all aspects of the business including sales and revenue production functions. John also guided the strategic and logistical process that resulted in the auctioned sale of these businesses. Prior to these business roles at AmSouth, John served as the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of the bank and lead the acquisition of a $3.5billion bank holding company.
John received his start in financial services in Pittsburgh, where he served as Legal Counsel at Mellon Bank and Dreyfus Retirement Services (a subsidiary of Mellon), including specific responsibility for ERISA compliant investment management. John also managed the Mellon and Dreyfus Retirement Services areas as a Senior Vice President, and Head of Retirement Services Division. While at Mellon, John coordinated two multi-billion dollar acquisitions, one from the legal side and one from the business side.
Prior to Mellon Bank, John practiced law in Pittsburgh at Buchanan Ingersoll, PC. He received his J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Ohio State University College of Law Journal on Dispute Resolution. John also has an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree from Mount Union College with majors in Economics and Finance.
John has served on the Board of Crayons to Computers, the Xavier University MIS Department, Shining Star Sports, the Cincinnati Ballet and Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Cincinnati. While in Alabama, John served on the Arthritis Foundation of Alabama and the United Way of Greater Birmingham.
