Stephen Boord brings over 20 years of investment banking, principal investing and senior executive operating experience to Silverstone Capital Advisors. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Office of middle market and high growth, venture capital-backed companies. Stephen has substantial experience in the private and public capital markets. In aggregate, he has raised over $8 billion in capital and executed over $1 billion in M&A transactions.

Stephen works closely with companies as an advisor and Board Member to help them achieve their financial and strategic goals. Most recently, he served as Chairman of DonorDrive (sold to Invoice Cloud), and currently serves as an advisor to Joy, leading its strategy and corporate development efforts.

Stephen’s operating experience includes being appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of a financially distressed industrial construction company. He repositioned and rebranded the company from a regional mechanical contractor for the industrial market to a highly specialized welding company targeting the power sector. After increasing revenues by over 100%, Stephen executed a strategy to close unprofitable business lines and sell remaining businesses to strategic buyers.

He also served as CEO of a venture capital backed, technology-enabled logistics company. He led the commercialization of the company’s technology with operational activities across four continents. Prior to assuming his operating roles, Stephen served as Managing Director of Neyer Holdings’ Merchant Banking business, where he sourced and led direct investments in middle market and early stage companies.

Before moving to Cincinnati, Stephen was vice president of investment banking at JPMorgan’s San Francisco office, where he helped build the firm’s West Coast general industries practice. Stephen worked on several financings, including IPOs for Shutterfly and Dolby Laboratories and a $2.1 billion leverage recapitalization for Clorox.
Prior to JPMorgan, Steve worked in business development at Lucasfilm with responsibility for structuring licensing deals for George Lucas’ Star Wars prequels. During his tenure, he executed hundreds of deals with product penetration in every territory of the world, including the largest consumer licensing deal in history. Prior to Lucasfilm, Steve was a financial analyst at Hambrecht & Quist, a San Francisco-based technology investment bank.
Stephen lives in Cincinnati with his wife and three children. He is an avid traveler and sports fan.

Steve has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he served as class president.
